School Counselling

Supporting School Communities with Compassionate Care

At Bluestar Counselling Services, we work in partnership with schools to provide accessible, thoughtful counselling for children and young people. Our aim is to support emotional wellbeing in a way that feels safe, consistent, and responsive to the needs of the school community.

Counselling can support young people with a range of difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, exam pressure, friendship and peer-group challenges, family changes, confidence and self-esteem, emotional regulation, and feelings of overwhelm. Sessions offer a confidential space where students can talk openly and feel listened to without judgement.

Alongside student support, we also offer dedicated counselling for school staff, recognising the emotional demands of working in educational settings.

Support can be short-term or longer-term, depending on individual needs, and is delivered in a calm, nurturing environment. We take care to match each client with a counsellor whose experience and approach best supports them, working closely with schools and within safeguarding procedures to ensure safe and effective support.

Self Referral Counselling

Private Counselling Tailored to You

At Bluestar Counselling Services, we provide empathetic, one-to-one counselling for adults, children, and young people. Sessions offer a safe, confidential space where individuals can talk openly about the challenges affecting their emotional wellbeing and day-to-day life.

We recognise that different people benefit from different ways of accessing support. Face-to-face counselling offers a consistent, supportive environment where younger clients can feel grounded and emotionally contained, and is our preferred way of working with children and young people aged 8 years to 16 years

For young people aged 16 years and over, as well as adults, counselling may also be offered online or by telephone. Many people find online sessions more accessible and comfortable, allowing them to engage in support from a familiar space while fitting sessions around everyday commitments.

Support can be short-term or longer-term, depending on individual needs, and is always delivered in a thoughtful,  way that priorities emotional safety, choice, and confidentiality.

Residential Facility Counselling

Specialist Counselling in Care Settings

At Bluestar Counselling Services, we provide one-to-one counselling within care homes, hospices, and children’s residential support homes. Our approach offers a calm, confidential space where individuals can talk about their thoughts and feelings in a way that feels safe, respectful, and unhurried.

We work sensitively within each setting, recognising the emotional complexity that can arise during times of change, vulnerability, or distress. Support is shaped around the individual, allowing them to explore their experiences, express difficult emotions, and feel listened to without pressure or judgement.

Our aim is to offer steady, compassionate support that brings understanding, comfort, and reassurance, while working alongside existing care teams and within established safeguarding arrangements.

Employer Referral

Workplace Wellbeing & Mental Health Support

At Bluestar Counselling Services, we support businesses and organisations to care for the mental health and emotional wellbeing of their employee's. We understand the pressures that modern workplaces can place on individuals and the impact this can have on wellbeing, performance, and morale.

We work in partnership with employers to provide confidential, one-to-one counselling for employees who may be experiencing stress, anxiety, low mood, burnout, or personal challenges that affect their work and home life. Support is professional, discreet, and delivered in a way that respects both the individual and the workplace setting.

Our approach helps organisations create a supportive culture where wellbeing is taken seriously, staff feel listened to, and early support can make a meaningful difference. Counselling can be offered on a short-term or ongoing basis and delivered face-to-face or online, providing flexible access to support that fits around working lives.
